Kamaru Usman says he can beat Khamzat Chimaev
There is not an ounce of doubt in Kamaru Usman’s mind that he can beat highly-rated prospect Khamzat Chimaev in a potential fight.
Khamzat Chimaev was introduced to the top of the division recently in his fight against #2 ranked Gilbert Burns. The fighter from Chechnya was showed the difference in the caliber of opponents between low ranks and the top 5 of the UFC welterweight division. The welterweight king Kamaru Usman paid close attention to the fight at UFC 273 between Chimaev and Burns.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Kamaru talks about the fight and breaks it down as he gives his opinion on the upcoming title contender. Despite giving big props to Khamzat for his rise to the top, Usman still believes he is on a whole other level compared to the title contenders.
When the reporter asked the chances of Usman beating Chimaev, the Nigerian Nightmare gave a very confident answer. “I’ve never had a doubt that I can and will or would beat anyone in the world,” said Usman establishing the fact that he is the number one pound-for-pound champion in the world.

After the fight against Burns, several fans got to see another side of Chimaev’s fight game. It showed the fighter had a lot of heart in him as he took knockout-worthy shots to the chin and still kept fighting for three rounds. Usman, who paid close attention to the fight believes he saw some weaknesses in Chimaev’s game.
“Absolutely. That’s what I’m supposed to do,” said Kamaru talking about holes in Chimaev’s game in the TMZ interview. “That’s my job. That’s just how I roll, what I do. I dissect each and every situation all the time, and I definitely did in that fight. But, there were a lot of things there that I knew were present all along.”
