Khabib Nurmagomedov blasts Colby Covington for pressing charges against Jorge Masvidal
UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov puts welterweight pay-per-view star Colby Covington on blast after his recent drama involving his rival Jorge Masvidal.
Recently, Jorge Masvidal ambushed Colby Covington outside the Papi Steak Restaurant in Miami, Florida, and hurt his former best friend in his scathing attack. After being reported to the police, Masvidal was arrested facing a count of criminal mischief. It is reported that Covington also pressed charges against Masvidal.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is not happy with the fact that Covington had to get the police involved. According to the former lightweight champion, Colby crossed the lines with his trash talk when he spoke ill of Masvidal’s kids. Nurmagomedov justifies Jorge’s attack. In a recent tweet, Khabib has spoken out in support of the BMF champion.
Khabib has always been a man of respect and principle when it comes to the sport of mixed martial arts. The fighter is a firm believer in not talking ill about another fighter’s personal life. He is no stranger to reacting to brutal trash talk as his attack on Conor’s teammates at UFC 229 for their disrespect is known to the entire world.

“Be ready to back up your words,” Khabib Nurmagomedov no Colby Covington pressing charges against Jorge Masvidal
Khabib went on a long rant about MMA fighters crossing the line of trash talking and trashed Covington for speaking ill of Jorge’s kid. “If you are stronger than someone inside the octagon, it does not mean that you can insult his children. No one has the right to insult someone’s family. Once you have gone down this path, then be ready to back your words,” wrote Nurmagomedov.
“You were attacked by a professional fighter, the same as you are, your own size, and you go press charges against him to the police? I think all welterweights should refuse to fight Colby, just don’t accept fights with him, let him sit without a fight, it will probably significantly affect him and all fighters who even think of insulting families, who are provoking the fighters to look for someone in restaurants to deal with him.”
