Eagle FC owner Khabib Nurmagomedov shows interest in signing former UFC world heavyweight champion

Former UFC Lightweight Champion and current owner of Eagle FC, Khabib Nurmagomedov is all in to become the best promoter in the fight business, and this means he can say yes and deal with almost anyone at any time. 2022 has big things stored in for Eagle FC, which was brought by Khabib back in November, a month after his retirement as an undefeated mixed martial artist with a record of 29 wins and no losses.

The December Eagle FC Press Conference was held recently in Miami and was aired live on Khabib’s Youtube Channel. The press conference was held for making major announcements and revealing major faces signed with Eagle FC. On the table, there was Khabib and the fighters for the upcoming Eagle FC main event on January 2022, kickboxing legend Tyrone Spong and longtime Russian MMA fighter Sergei Kharitonov.

Besides that, the press conference had UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans answering questions for his signing into the Eagle FC as well as there was confirmation of Kevin Lee getting officially signed by the promotion after his recent UFC release.

Former Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos, in his prime, was one of the best boxers in the UFC roster and the best in his division. His knockout wins over legends like Cain Velasquez, Mark Hunt, Frank Mir, Gabriel Gonzaga, Fabricio Werdum, Derreck Lewis, Tai Tuivasa and Stephen Struve speaks volumes across the history of the sport of MMA. The former heavyweight champion was released from UFC in March of this year alongside fellow heavyweight Alistair Overeem.

With that said, Damon Martin, news editor for MMA Fighting, recently reported on Twitter “Junior dos Santos is sitting front row at the #EagleFC press conference and Khabib Nurmagomedov confirms that he’d like to sign Junior to the roster.”

This can be another big signing of the ex-UFC fighters into the Eagle FC if Dos Santos will be down for it, alongside Rashad Evans and Kevin Lee. As of now, Dos Santos seems to be enjoying his hands in professional wrestling via opportunities given by AEW.
