“BMF belt is mine, UFC belt is mine,” Khamzat Chimaev extremely furious over no fight by March 2022
Khamzat Chimaev
UFC Welterweight Khamzat Chimaev is running out of patience in his due course of waiting for the next fight. The problem is that Chimaev is on a calling out spree over athletes that are not only inside but outside the UFC as well, which includes Colby Covington, Nate Diaz, MMA Legend Daniel Cormier for wrestling and even former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE megastar, Brock Lesnar.
Chimaev is 4-0 in the UFC and what makes these 4 fights extraordinary is that Chimaev has been hit only twice! Also, Chimaev earned the first two victories in a span of just 10 days. The third victory came via knockout in just 17 seconds and after a year layoff due to Covid, Chimaev returned straightaway against a top-10 opponent at UFC 267, only to choke him out in the first round.
Khamzat Chimaev takes it to Twitter to express his frustration for lack of or no competition
Chimaev took it to Twitter to make it clear that he has no opponent despite desperately wanting to fight and desperately calling out everybody. He tweeted, “If [I] say I want to fight everybody it means everybody, I don’t have to call every single fighter by their names. BMF belt is mine, UFC belt is mine too. I’ve heard there is gonna be event 5 of Mars in Vegas. And I don’t understand why I still don’t have an opponent.”
Chimaev doesn’t want to waste any more time as he already got wasted by Covid for more than a year. For this reason, Chimaev readily agreed to and recently fought a wrestling match against a UFC middleweight, Jack Hermansson against whom Chimaev did more than pretty well. Probably Chimaev wants more off wrestling matches right now as the UFC takes time to figure out an opponent for Chimaev.
The sudden shock is in the fact that UFC welterweight Neil Magny is calling out Chimaev every time and out of everywhere, whether it’s Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour or through Dana White’s wordings that Magny has been asking for this fight. But for some reason, this has become a bizarre situation as neither UFC is in the works for the fights nor Chimaev has spoken about Magny calling him out to fight. Also, Terrance McKinney, UFC Lightweight has been time and again calling out Chimaev for a wrestling match, Chimaev has again never responded to McKinney on that either.
What do you make of Khamzat Chimaev’s situation? Do you think he will fight Neil Magny or even Terrance McKinney for wrestling? Or does Chimaev should simply get what he wants?
