Khamzat planned on knocking out Burns in the first round and challenging the welterweight king, Kamaru Usman for the belt. Even though he got the victory, his performance wasn’t good enough to receive an appreciation from the champ. After beating Usman, Khamzat wanted to move up to the middleweight division to take on Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya was watching the event, and he was impressed by his will. Adesanya has beaten almost every contender in his division, and we might see a fight between these two in the near future. Henry Cejudo was keeping a close eye on this fight as well, and he believes Khamzat isn’t ready to fight the likes of Usman.

Talking about it on Triple C & Schmo Show, he said, “That was the right call, but if Chimaev goes out there and fights The Nigerian nightmare like that, he’s in big trouble man. We just saw him kind of become human here.”
