Khamzat Chimaev made his UFC debut in the year 2020. The fighter has fought five fights since then and is a potential title contender in the welterweight division. The fighter has been breaking records for the MMA promotion on social media platforms and has a huge fan following around the world. It is safe to say that his biggest fan is Chechnya’s totalitarian leader, Ramzan Kadyrov.

Khamzat took part in the biggest fight of his career last weekend at UFC 273. The fighter had a huge step up in terms of challenge as he took on #2 welterweight contender Gilbert Burns on the main card. The entire world tuned in to watch if Chimaev could beat someone of the caliber as Burns.
Chimaev proved to the world why he has so much hype behind him and the kind of monster he is. Khamzat beat the title contender via unanimous decision after an absolute war. Leading up to the fight, Khamzat posted a screenshot of him talking to the Chechen leader, on Instagram. Kadyrov has been a great support in Chimaev’s career and was also crucial in motivating Chimaev to not retire in 2020 when he was affected by COVID-19 and faced a lot of problems regarding health.
