Last weekend, Jake Paul went against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami, drawing massive attention. The boxing bout went exactly how many had expected, as Paul suffered a brutal knockout loss against the significantly bigger and more experienced heavyweight.
Following the bout, Paul received praise for fighting a heavyweight; Michael Bisping felt such credit was unnecessary. Following the bout, Jake Paul shared images showing his jaw broken in two places, highlighting the physical toll. Joshua credited ‘The Problem Child’ for surviving six rounds and continuing after being knocked down during the difficult fight.
Paul’s business partner and MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian praised him for displaying what he called ‘unbelievable heart’ throughout the contest. However, former UFC champion Michael Bisping refuted those claims in his latest YouTube video, dismissing excessive praise.
First off, it wasn’t ‘unbelievable heart’. He was dancing around, and there’s no shame in that because we have weight classes for a reason, but it wasn’t unbelievable heart, right? It was a good show. It was a great show. So Jake Paul lost because of the skill difference, not the size difference. I am sorry. I am not trying to insult this guy. I’m not. But as a former fighter, someone that’s very experienced in the world of mixed martial arts and combat sports in general, this is a crazy shout.

Ahead of the fight, Jake Paul made several claims, including predicting an early knockout against Joshua. However, throughout the fight, Paul largely focused on surviving the rounds and avoided initiating meaningful offense against Joshua. Despite that, in his recent comments, Paul has claimed that he won the first two rounds against AJ.

Following the loss, Jake Paul took it well and avoided making excuses, accepting the defeat calmly. He immediately returned to his entertainer role, sharing humorous videos from his hospital bed despite suffering serious injuries. Some reports had Paul earning a whopping $92 million for the fight and later flexed inside his private jet with cash and guns.
Jake Paul wants Francis Ngannou next
Despite the brutal beatdown, Jake Paul has not given up and remains vocal about returning quickly to competition. His bout against Anthony Joshua reportedly drew 33 million views on Netflix, numbers that fell short of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford. However, the biggest audience peak still belongs to Paul’s crossover spectacle against Mike Tyson, which dominated global combat sports attention.

Paul expressed pride in transforming himself from a laughing stock within combat sports into a legitimate attraction. He emphasized becoming a major pay-per-name figure, capable of generating massive revenues regardless of wins, losses, or criticism.
During a recent podcast appearance, Paul reflected on embracing pressure, learning from setbacks, and staying motivated by unprecedented commercial success. Notably, he revealed excitement about potentially receiving an opportunity to fight Francis Ngannou, calling it another massive crossover challenge.
I told everyone that I’d do better than Francis. Francis kinda got no chin. Francis is lowkey soft… I’ll fight Francis. I think maybe now he’ll take [the fight].

Ngannou was previously offered a fight against Jake Paul, but he declined, calling it disrespectful to face a significantly lighter opponent. However, considering the massive money involved, it would not be surprising if the former UFC champion eventually rethinks his stance on the matchup. Ngannou is technically 0–2 in professional boxing, having lost competitive bouts against Joshua and Tyson Fury.
Despite those losses, Ngannou’s raw power, size, and athleticism remain extremely dangerous for anyone stepping inside the ring. According to experts like Joe Rogan, the influencer-turned-boxer should avoid heavyweights altogether due to severe injury risks.
