UFC Saudi Arabia will take place this weekend, and the hype around the card is massive. Despite being a Fight Night, the card is filled with pay-per-view level fights. The co-main event bout between Shara Magomedov and Michael ‘Venom’ Page is definitely a top fight to look out for.

Ahead of the fight, Page is the underdog while the Russian is a slight favorite. Retired UFC fighters Michael Bisping and Paul Felder recently reviewed the fight. For the former middleweight champion, choosing between both fighters was very tough, but he finally settled with his countryman.

I’m torn in this fight. Because on one side, I have my one-eyed brother…..but then in the flipside MVP, he’s a great guy and he’s English. I will go with MVP, and I hope you do it brother.

Bisping does have a great soft corner for Shara Bullet due to his eye condition. Both lost one of their eyes and still continued their MMA journey. On the same podcast episode, Bisping shared how hard it was to have depth perception with one eye while fighting. He was incredibly impressed by the Dagestani fighter’s talent and wished him good luck.

MVP is coming into the fight after his recent loss against Ian Garry at UFC 303 where he got dominated by wrestling. However, Shara Magomedov isn’t known for his wrestling prowess and will probably keep the fight on his feet. It would be interesting to see in a classic striking contest, whether Bisping’s pick takes the win.

Shara Magomedov credits Michael Bisping for being a motivation

Shara Magomedov is a dynamic striker known for explosive spinning attacks, precise counters, and refined kicking game. His elite kickboxing background makes him a dangerous stand-up fighter, combining speed, power, and unorthodox techniques. After dominating Russia’s regional scene, he made his UFC debut in 2023, impressing fans with his highlight-reel moments.

Magomed lost his right eye in 2016 while training, but that didn’t stop him. It was similar to Michael Bisping’s retina detachment during his fight with Vitor Belfort. In a recent interview, Magomed talked about how the ‘Count’ helped him stay motivated in his MMA career.

Bisping indeed was a big inspiration for me. Because of all the surgeries and all of the procedures that I had to have on my eye in order to try to fix it… I wasn’t sure if somebody with impaired vision like mine could fight and could actually do it. When I saw Bisping actually did it and he got the belt, to me, that served like a huge motivation

Shara Magomed is undefeated in UFC, and ranks #14 in the middleweight division. The Dagestani fighter is eager to climb up the rankings and fight top opponents. One of his potential opponents, Israel Adesanya will also be fighting on the same card in the main event this weekend. It remains to be seen if the rising fighter can secure a fight against the former champion with a win.
