The discussion about the much anticipated Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight has kept everyone on their toes. Many believe that McGregor is eyeing a comeback in December of this year. However, according to UFC legend Chael Sonnen, there is a disagreement with UFC.
Previously, Conor McGregor had urged Dana White to announce December for his return fight. While White wasn’t that sure, he couldn’t completely shut down McGregor’s wishes. Sonnen in his recent YouTube video shared information he gathered via an inside source. The Hall of Famer believes the UFC wants the fight to take place at UFC 311 next year.

McGregor has been out of the octagon for over three years. The Notorious has made a lot of money in his time away and now wants to get back into the world of MMA. However, there is no concrete reason behind the disagreement between the dates. There could be a reason that UFC already has a different plan for UFC 310.
UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has also talked about defending his championship against Arman Tsarukyan later this year. With all other months booked, December is the only option for this lightweight bout. Though Makhachev’s hand injury could derail the fight, it’s possible that this is the main reason the UFC doesn’t want McGregor in December.
Michael Chandler confirms potential announcement for his Conor McGregor
Michael Chandler has waited for two long years to fight Conor McGregor. The opportunity came close at UFC 303 but was later scrapped due to McGregor’s injury. The wait definitely affected Chandler as he was seen asking for other fight opportunities including the lightweight title shot. However, many experts including Stephen Thompson suggested the fighter to continue to stick to the McGregor fight.
Over the time Michael Chandler has frequently shared his training videos on social media platforms with motivational captions. For this, the fighter recently got trolled for having the longest training camp to fight McGregor. In the latest post, the ‘Iron’ had some important news about his upcoming fight.
