Arman Tsarukyan is making a quick turnaround in his grappling career by competing at RAF 08 this weekend. He also competed at RAF 07 in a rematch against street wrestler and influencer, Georgio Poullas. This time around, he faces an MMA legend who had fans in stitches during the press conference.

The No. 2 ranked lightweight contender in the UFC faces off against Urijah Faber, a legend from a bygone era of MMA. Much like Tsarukyan, Faber has also competed at RAF. He took on Henry Cejudo but was ultimately outclassed by the Olympic gold medalist.

However, there was no outclassing Faber at the RAF 08 press conference as he and Tsarukyan traded barbs. A lot was said between the two fighters. However, Faber chimed in with great jabs at Tsarukyan, giving him advice about his finances and eating habits.

Now, the Armenian lightweight did have a comeback for Faber’s banter. He joked about the way Faber looked in a singlet and claimed that while he wastes food, the latter overindulges. Tsarukyan then requested something of RAF as well.

Please tomorrow when we’re gonna wrestle give him shorts and t-shirt because on the singlet, he looks like [expletive]. I don’t know like he doesn’t look like a fire wrestler.

Fans online were quick to come to Faber’s defense. They pointed out how he had one of the best physiques in combat sports in his prime. In fact, they commended Faber for showing up to the bout despite being significantly older than his opponent. This is especially admirable when his opponent also has an Olympics co-sign from a gold-winning Olympian.

Things are sure heating up as the bout between Tsarukyan and Faber inches closer. However, the bout was in serious jeopardy just hours ago because of a situation involving the Armenian.

The 29-year-old and his entourage were removed from American Airlines flight yesterday. Russian journalist Adam Zubayraev captured the whole incident on his phone. Tsarukyan didn’t say much except for flexing the alternate arrangements he’d made. Nevertheless, at the RAF 08 presser, he finally addressed the incident in public.

According to Adam Zubayarev, Arman Tsarukyan and his team were apparently removed for being on their phones during takeoff. The Armenian lightweight corroborated this as he explained what happened on the flight during the presser.

Allegedly, the flight attendants were rude to him from the get-go. Apparently, the UFC star asked them if there were empty seats that could accommodate a larger man from his entourage. A dismissive stewardess curtly told Tsarukyan to go back to his seat. However, things didn’t end there.

Then someone called my friend. He picked up the phone, and other my friend, he had to open his table, and she came and say, ‘Close your table,’ and he said, like, ‘Okay, okay. I’ll do that.’ And Pucho, someone called Pucho. He took the phone, and then three of us, we kicked out from the plane, and the other seven, they flew [commercial].

Tsarukyan also revealed that the 7 members who flew commercial wanted to join him in the private jet he later chartered. The last 48 hours have been quite happening for the Armenian. Not only did he deal with this debacle, he also got into a war of words with boxer Ryan Garcia on X.

Nonetheless, all of that is behind him as he looks to take on Urijah Faber at RAF 08. With the playfully heated banter between the two, their bout is sure to be a barnburner. Can Arman Tsarukyan get the last laugh after the bout? Only time will tell.
