The main event bout at UFC Seattle between Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong turned out to be a controversial one. In the third round, ‘Triple C’ got poked, and the fight was stopped as he couldn’t see from his left eye. However, Yadong won the fight, and no points were deducted, which created a series of debates around the incident.
After getting his eye poked, Cejudo fully utilized the timeout and waited five minutes to recover. He was then observed telling his cornermen that he couldn’t see. After the doctor’s suggestion, referee Jason Herzog stopped the fight. Recently, on his YouTube channel, former UFC champion Michael Bisping shared his opinion on the matter.
Eye pokes are bad, right? If you start taking points, people will stop stretching their f*cking fingers out…. Why isn’t the ref saying anything? Something needs to be done. Stricter penalties need to be in place. There needs to be immediate consequences for people poking fighters in the eye. It’s as simple as that.

Bisping, who lost his right eye during his fight against Vitor Belfort in 2013, definitely understands the severity of the incident. Though Bisping didn’t get an eye poke, Cejudo definitely got lucky looking at the latest pictures of his injured eye. According to the former double champion, he damaged soft tissue and had an abrasion on his cornea.
Another UFC veteran, Jim Miller, also shared a similar sentiment about the situation and talked about having stricter penalties. Miller has faced multiple eye injuries that have damaged his eyesight over the course of many years. Fortunately, for Cejudo, the fighter is doing well now after the injury.
Henry Cejudo wants to run it back against Song Yadong
Going into the fight, Henry Cejudo was confident about winning and had a good start. Song Yadong also looked good, and both were connecting multiple shots. However, on points, the Chinese national was better, and without the point deduction, he was able to win the bout.

UFC CEO Dana White was frustrated by the way the fight ended and wanted Cejudo to continue the fight. In the post-fight presser, he shut down any assumptions about a potential rematch between Cejudo and Yadong. However, ‘Triple C’ believes he deserves the shot and made it clear in a tweet.
Run it back @danawhite !!! @SongYadongLFG you told me you wanted a rematch. Your face at the end says it all. You know you didn’t defeat me. Learn how to close your fists and sign the damn contract!
