Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa are ready to give the fans what they want. A slugfest is guaranteed when two of the most exciting heavyweights take the center stage and UFC 271 is giving the fans exactly that.

UFC 271 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event will be headlined by the much-anticipated title rematch of Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker while the co-main event is not one to sleep on. The greatest knockout artist in the history of UFC will be challenged by the rising heavyweight. Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa is definitely a fight that no one would want to miss out on.

The two fan-favorites were at their absolute best during the pre-fight press conference. Neither of the two heavyweights is looking to go past the first round in their scheduled three-round fight. In the press conference, Lewis and Tuivasa both predicted that they will knock out the other in the first round.

Lewis is a veteran of the sport and has the most knockouts in UFC history. The fighter is coming off a KO win against Chris Daukuas in December 2021 and is already ready to entertain his fans in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Tuivasa on the other hand is coming off a devastating KO win against Augusto Sakai at UFC 269.

“Shiiiit I’m coming to knock his a** out. With the utmost respect though. I respect the man though but I am going to knock his a** out,” said Derrick when asked for a prediction. Tuivasa wasn’t quick to add that he wasn’t intending to do anything different. “I’m coming to do the same thing brah,” said Tuivasa.

When two fighters are looking to get the knockout in the first round, Derrick believes nothing better to do than “Swang and bang.” When asked if Tuivasa sees the fight going past the first round, “Bam Bam” replied with, “Probably not. But that excites me. It is either going to be my head or his head. We entertain the fans. We coming here to take heads off.”

Tuivasa is on a four-fight winning streak and is looking to continue his streak. Meanwhile, Lewis very recently fought in Houston for the interim heavyweight title at UFC 265.
