The UFC Macau fight card featured several Road to UFC matches, an initiative aimed at helping Asian MMA fighters reach the global stage. One of these bouts showcased two Chinese strawweight fighters, Shi Ming and Feng Xiaocan, who faced off against each other. Although there wasn’t much buzz surrounding the fight card initially, Ming’s remarkable striking skills completely transformed the atmosphere of the event.

The Chinese strawweight fighters delivered an impressive display of skill, highlighted by Shi Ming landing a precise head kick on Feng Xiaocan. While the kick was executed perfectly, the aftermath was quite concerning. The 22-year-old Xiaocan, who suffered the impact of the head kick, was carried out of the octagon on a stretcher. This moment from the UFC Macau fight card quickly went viral and further raised expectations for the rest of the card.

2. Zhang Mingyang continued his first-round-finish streak

The prelims of the UFC Macau fight night further raised expectations of the main card, and it did not fail. The first of the main card featured a local boy, Zhang Mingyang, who made his way to the promotion through Road to UFC. Mingyang’s fight against Ozzy Diaz was his second UFC outing since his promotional debut in February 2024.

The Chinese light heavyweight fighter had built a reputation for achieving an impressive number of first-round finishes. With this anticipation, Mingyang faced Diaz and, for the 18th time in his MMA career, finished his opponent in the first round. 3. Muslim Salikhov creates history at UFC Macau by knocking out his opponent with a spinning wheel kick

Over the years, several fighters have made their mark in the UFC records. At the UFC Fight Night in Macau, 40-year-old Russian fighter Muslim Salikhov became the latest to etch his name in the UFC record book. Salikhov, who made his promotional debut in 2017, has had a tumultuous career in the organization up until now.

Despite his ongoing struggles with form, the Russian fighter faced Chinese competitor Song Kenan in Macau. As the favorite going into the match, Salikhov demonstrated his skills once again. This time by delivering a stunning spinning wheel kick that knocked out Kenan. Notably, at 40 years old, he became the first UFC fighter to achieve two knockouts via a spinning wheel kick.
