Gray Maynard is a true legend of MMA. His legendary trilogy against Frankie Edgar is still one of the most memorable trilogies in the history of MMA. He was released from the UFC following a loss against Nik Lentz t UFC 229, he hasn’t returned inside the octagon ever since, but he recently answered some questions from fans that turned some heads in the MMA community.

We all the UFC isn’t necessarily known for taking the best care of their fighters, many athletes came forward and accused UFC of not paying them accordingly, former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones fought a full out war with the UFC to get the money he thinks he deserves for the super fight against Francis Ngannou. Talking about Francis, he tried to land a better contract for himself before his title defense against Ciryl Gane, and even after retaining his belt, things aren’t looking very good for him.

Gray Maynard also spoke on the issue, he was answering some questions from fans, and he revealed some shocking information from his time in the UFC. He also accused Dana White of exploiting him, and stated he had to find some other sources of income to sustain his family.

Some conversation went down, and a fan claimed that he was always given a fair treatment in the UFC, and during his peak, he was considered as the biggest prospect in the promotion, Maynard was quick to react on this and he wrote, “No. He made money off my blood/sweat and paid me shit. Still making money from a lot of my fights being replayed. I was on a pedestal because I worked my ass since I was 3 years when I started wrestling. He just pimps us out and takes most of the money.” 

To add on to his comments, he wrote, “Look man. I don’t expect you to understand my experiences working with the UFC. But I can assure you after my 1st title fight when I was only guaranteed $26k. Reality hit pretty hard and I started finding other ways to make money.”
