Michael Bisping and Darren Till
Darren Till suffered a disappointing loss against Derek Brunson in the main event of UFC Vegas 36. The Scouser’s aim to get back to winning ways didn’t go as planned, as the improved Brunson gave no room for Till to get even a foothold in the fight. After having dominated Till in the first two rounds, Brunson executed a rear-naked choke to win via. submission. The win also brought up his fifth consecutive victory in the UFC.
Following Darren Till’s loss, fellow Englishman and UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping offered words of advice for the Brit. In an interview with Caroline Pearce of BT Sport, Bisping asked Till to keep his chin up before going on to state how he had youth and potential on his side. He finished his advice with his own catchphrase – ‘Quitters Never Win.’
“Youth is on your side” – Michael Bisping to Darren Till
Bisping was quoted as saying, “Darren keep your chin up mate. Listen! You got it, you got all the skills, you really do. You have all the potential to become a champion one day. Youth is on your side, but you’ve got to stay the course, stay focused. Do not give up on yourself. After all, somebody very, very smart once said, ‘Quitters never win.'” [H/T FirstSportz.com]
‘The Count’ then suggested Till to move to the welterweight division. Speaking about which he said, “Of I think perhaps a move back down to welterweight. When you look at Derek Brunson compared to him, Derek Brunson is a much bigger guy. I’m not talking height-wise. Height-wise, they’re very similar. But when you look at the frame – and with the frame and with that muscle, comes a lot of strength.”
Bisping is considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist from the United Kingdom. After spending 10 years with the UFC, Bisping won a title in 2016, after he beat Luke Rockhold at UFC 199. In doing so, he became the first-ever Brit to win a UFC title, and until today, he remains the only man to have done it.

Till, on the other hand, will be drawing inspiration from Bisping. He must realize that all is not done, and pick himself up and come back stronger. He did look devastated following his defeat to Brunson. His MMA record currently stands at 18 wins and just 4 losses, and he is only 28, meaning he still has a long way to go.
