At UFC 270, Francis Ngannou will defend his heavyweight title for the first time and it will be against the interim heavyweight champion, and Ngannou’s former training partner from France, Ciryl Gane.
UFC will hold their first PPV event of the year 2022 on January 22 and the hype around the event is monumental. It was headlined by the heavyweight title fight between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. The fight was able to attract such attention due to the story behind the making of the fight. Both Ngannou and Gane are old friends, training partners, and roommates but due to certain situations they now hate each other.
MMA fans are excited to see whether Gane has what it takes to defeat ‘The Predator’ and become the new heavyweight bout. Many are assuming this fight to be one of the best heavyweight match-ups of all time. UFC president Dana White even told the press that this fight is one of the best bouts organized by him in UFC.
Michael Bisping states the criteria for making into his “top 5 greatest heavyweights of all time” list
Talking about this fight in his recent YouTube video, former UFC champion, Michael Bisping took some time to list the top 5 heavyweights of all time, he said, “Maybe one of the guys that wins on Saturday night will go down in the history as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Which is a perfect segment for me to give you my list of who I believe are top five heavyweights of all time.”
He added, “Now, criteria, to get on this list of course you had to fight in the UFC, so unfortunately that eradicates eliminates some people. We’re talking Fedor Emelianenko primarily okay, never fought in the UFC. Also, you had to fight the best possible fighters, opposition, challenges that were available in your era, and of course, no testing positive for steroids.”
