Michael Chandler wants to be the #3 fighter in the UFC lightweight division because he has been very dominant in his last few fights. Chandler recently fought Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 on May 7 inside the the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The fight was highly anticipated due to the reputation of both these fighters for being extremely violent.

In the fight, Chandler shook the world by dropping Ferguson on the ground in the second round. Chandler stunned Ferguson with a brutal front kick on the chin which is now being considered as one of the best knockouts in UFC history.

The fight was entertaining and Chandler proved yet again why is one of the most exciting fighters in the division. Before the Ferguson fight, Chandler also fought Justin Gaethje in a brutal war that was very thrilling to watch.

After the fight there were discussions regarding the rank of Chandler in the lightweight division. The fighter is currently competing with Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev in terms of rankings. But it’s hard for Chandler to edge them as both Dariush and Makhachev are on long winning streaks.

Chandler recently took the Twitter in order to address his fans and followers that he deserves to be the #3 ranked fighter in the lightweight division.

In the tweet, Chandler explained that he just knocked out the #7 fighter, Ferguson in the second round and that should be enough to take his rank higher. Chandler revealed that it would he should be above Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev because they are less dominated than him.

Rankings come out tomorrow. Tell me a second round lawn chair folding of #7 doesn’t propel me to #3 ahead of two guys who finished guys in less dominant fashion than that. #ufcrankings,” wrote Chandler.

The new UFC lightweight rankings are out and it doesn’t feature any significant changes. After being stripped of the title, Charles Oliveira is the #1 fighter. Chandler failed to go up in the rankings and will have to settle with #5 under Dustin Poirier, Gaethje and Makhachev.
