“I’d never QUIT”- Michael Chandler congratulates Charles Oliveira and predicts a clash in late 2022

Michael Chandler to Charles Oliveira

Michael Chandler can’t hold his excitement after Charles Oliveira defended his lightweight title against the number one contender Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 269. Dustin had Oliveira hurt in round number 1, but Oliveira came back strong and controlled Poirier for the entirety of round number 2.

Oliveira then got Dustin’s back and locked in a rear-naked choke to end things for Dustin. Everybody was rallying behind Dustin in this one, and people were underestimating the champ ahead of his title defense. Charles proved everybody wrong and retained his title. His former challenger, Michael Chandler was keeping a close eye on this fight, and he had a number of things to say after this one.

After Dustin tapped, he wrote, “I would never ever quit…I went out on my shield after being separated from consciousness, congrats to Oliveira..

Then he recalled the time from his fight against Oliveira, even though Chandler got knocked out, he didn’t succumb to Oliveira’s submission game, he wrote, “The way I see it…the whole world wants to see me rematch 2 out of the 3 fights I’ve had in the @UFC … that’s how you come in and make a statement. I’d never QUIT. Congrats to Oliveira …punch your ticket with Gaethje this summer and I’ll see you at the end of 2022.”

“Tell me you can’t see a difference between the so-called “elite” and the ones who are built different,” Michael Chandler points fingers at Dustin Poirier

Chandler dropped Oliveira in the first round, and almost finished the fight, talking about this he wrote, “Ok, imagine, it’s June 2022. I lost to the former champion after beating him 10-8 in round one, ROTY candidate. And the new champion the whole world wants to see me run back my FOTY with. Less than 1.5 years after making my #ufc debut. Ooooh…it’s good to be me.

Then Chandler claimed the “so-called elites” of the division, folded in front of Oliveira, while he took the fight to him. He wrote, “I just didn’t feel it. Yeah, I lost, I get it, but tell me you can’t see a difference between the so-called “elite” and the ones who are built different. Ive been there there to inflict immense bodily harm on somebody since the jump. Others are there to “play mma.”
