The number 5 ranked UFC welterweight Michael Chiesa takes on Vicente Luque in the main card of the upcoming UFC 265. This will be Chiesa’s first fight since January this year, when he beat Neil Magny via. unanimous decision. ‘Maverick’ now feels that he is deserving of a title shot.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Michael Chiesa presented his case to fight for the welterweight title. He stated that he deserved to fight for the title next if sees of Vicente Luque this weekend. Chiesa also revealed that he felt Kamaru Usman would see of Colby Covington in the title rematch at UFC 268.

“I think whoever wins this fight should go and fight for the title. You know, they booked Colby and Usman. If Colby gets past Usman, I wouldn’t be surprised if they do a trilogy. Chiesa last faced Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs Magny on the 20th of January, and won via. unanimous decision. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak, with his last loss coming way back in July 2018.

Vicente Luque, on the other hand, last beat Tyron Woodley at UFC 260 via. submission due to a brabo choke. Woodley, in fact was released from the promotion following that loss. Luque, is currently on a three-fight winning run, with wins over Randy Brown and Niko Price previously.

Michael Chiesa believes Kamaru Umsan will beat Colby Covington at UFC 268

Kamaru Umsan and Colby Covington will be facing off at UFC 268, in November, probably at the Madison Square Garden. This will be rematch of the UFC 245 war in December 2019. Chiesa weighed in on Usman vs Covington 2.

The Maverick predicted that Usman would get the job done. Chiesa said. “Just with the changes and the evolution we’ve seen from Kamaru Usman, it’s hard for me to pick against him.”
