“I didn’t handle it right,” Mike Perry regrets beefing with Jake Paul, says would be open to fighting J’Leon Love
Mike Perry and Jake Paul
Mike Perry once hated Jake Paul but his opinion on the YouTube boxer has changed as time has passed and “The Platinum” reflects on beefing with the Paul brother.
Things went south between Jake Paul and Mike Perry when the Youtuber released footage of the two fighters sparring ahead of the Ben Askren boxing match. Paul called the UFC welterweight “light work” and lit the fire for their feud. Mike went berserk on his social media taking it all out on the YouTube boxer. But after the fight was done and looking back on it, Perry believes he shouldn’t have raged the way he did on the superstar.
Recently, “The Platinum” appeared on MMA Fighting’s MMA Hour show hosted by Ariel Helwani. In the interview, they spoke about the terms Paul and Perry are in right now. “I feel I honestly didn’t handle it right,” he said. “Like when Jake posted a video of me saying that we had worked together, even if he was talking trash, or having me talk trash on myself, he was putting me out there on a platform that I didn’t have necessarily.”
Mike Perry wants to fight Jake Paul’s cornerman J’Leon Love
Perry revealed that he and the Paul crew met each other at a club and things were all cool. But “The Platinum” and Paul’s friend J’Leon Love, who has been in the headlines quite a few times and also the main instigator for the Tyron Woodley fight had a little back and forth with the welterweight fighter. “I had seen Jake and his boy J’Leon Love in the club later that week,” Perry said.
“We were at Live, and I walked by, and somebody grabbed me, and it was them. And I was talking to them for a second and me and Jay Leon started poking each other in the nose, and then all these people came over and were like, ‘No, no,’ and were separating us. And I was like, ‘It’s all good, we’re cool.’ And Jay Leon tweeted about it, said it was a good conversation, but he beat my ass. Well, let’s run it, bro.”
