Adrian Yanez just went against Tony Kelly at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Emmett and Yanez just delivered what he promised. The fight between Kelly and Yanez had a lot of build-up due to the controversial comments made by Kelly on a Brazilian fighter.
A month ago, Kelly was at the corner of UFC flyweight fighter, Andrea Lee while she was fighting Viviane Araújo. During the fight, in the middle of rounds, Kelly was caught by a microphone saying foul and racist words towards Araújo and her native people. He said :
” That’s what they’re gonna do. They’re dirty f Brazilians. They’re going to f**ing cheat like that.”
After the fighter was criticized by a lot of fighters for using such words against Brazilians. Yanez also jumped in the controversy and claimed that he would knock Kelly down the next time they met inside the octagon. Yanez kept his word and absolutely destroyed Kelly. Yanez dropped Kelly in the third minute of the very first round with a barrage of hooks. The referee stopped the fight and Yanez was declared the winner via TKO.

After dropping Kelly on the ground, Yanez went on to show middle fingers towards the fighter in the heat of the moment.
Popular Twitter MMA meme page, The People’s MMA jokingly took a still from that moment and captioned it by writing,” Adrian really hates that ref.”.
Yanez noticed the meme and replied back by mentioning that he likes ref Kerry a lot as he has been in most of his fights.
“I actually have a lot of love for Kerry reffed a lot of my fights in Texas ???.” Wrote Adrian on his official Twitter handle.
Before coming into the fight, Kelly flipped at the whole arena and this might have been the reason Yanez did that.
After the fight, Yanez also revealed that Kelly was trying to trash talk at him during fight.
“Honestly it was cool, calm and collected for me. He started talking mess to me in the middle of the fight and I said I’m going to get you for those words.”
