Brazilian fighter Alex Pereira is actively preparing for his highly anticipated showdown against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. This fight will decide the champion for the light heavyweight division at the UFC 295 event. Pereira has stated that he is going into this battle with a good attitude and one aim in mind: to win the light heavyweight belt. 

Pereira recently stated that he wanted to give Glover Teixeira and their training facility the championship belt back. He made it clear that his motivation is to return the championship to his camp rather than emotions of retaliation. This is what he said:

Well, I am not going into this fight with mixed emotions about vengeance because I don't wanna play that thing, i wanna go with a very positive mindset, so I want to fight like, I want to go with the mindset like they not even have fought before. But looking through the other side, being able to bring Glover back his belt and put that back in the gym. That means a lot to him

Alex Pereira is coming off a win over the former light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz. Jiri Prochazka is coming off a win over Pereira’s friend and teammate, Glover Texeira. The fate of the light heavyweight division will be on the shoulders of these 2 fighters as they duke it out for the title.

The induction of Brazilian fighter Alex Pereira into the GLORY Kickboxing Hall of Fame on November 4, 2023, marked a noteworthy turning point in his combat sports career. Before switching to MMA, Pereira had a successful kickboxing career and was a former GLORY two-division champion.

As one of the best champions in GLORY history, Pereira was the first fighter in the organization’s history to hold the middleweight and light heavyweight belts concurrently.
