Alex Pereira, the new undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion, has called out Israel Adesanya. Pereira wants to complete their MMA trilogy.

The UFC 295 fight card had several splendid matchups, and the event lived up to the hype. Furthermore, every fight in the main card at Madison Square Garden ended with a KO. Subsequently, in the main event between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka, Pereira emerged victorious.

Furthermore, Pereira finished the fight in the second round after securing a knockdown and multiple elbow strikes. Pereira became the UFC light heavyweight champion, and he made history by becoming the ninth person to win titles in two divisions. During the post-fight cage interview, Pereira called out his longtime rival, Israel Adesanya, who once defeated him. Hence, Pereira stated:

Pereira started the post-fight interview by stating that he was not the type of person to call out people. However, Pereira revealed what motivated him to become a MMA fighter. Adesnaya would mock Pereira claiming that the greatest thing Pereira did was beat Adesanya in kickboxing. It motivated Pereira to chase him down in MMA and beat him. Subsequently, this motivated Pereira and rescued him and now he wants to rescue Adesanya from inactivity.

In addition, Pereira stated that he had a lot of history with him and did not want to see his talent go to waste. Furthermore, Joe Rogan confirmed that Pereira was calling out Adesanya to move to the light heavyweight division, and Pereira and his team members agreed.

Jiri Prochazka responds to the early stoppage after fighting Alex Pereira

The fight was quite exciting from the first round itself, with Pereira throwing several calf kicks at Prochazka. Subsequently, they wobbled Prochazka, but he continued to charge toward Pereira relentlessly. In addition, Prochazka was able to bring Pereira down to the canvas, and both grappled with each other briefly.

However, Pereira was able to come back to his feet before the end of the first round. In the second round, both fighters exchanged several blows against each other, and Pereira was able to knock down Prochazka with a counter right hand. Pereira then proceeded to hurl a barrage of elbows, which forced the referee to end the match. In a post-fight interview, Prochazka stated that the decision was right because he was unconscious briefly.

However, several MMA fans and fighters felt that the referee made an early stoppage. Furthermore, many UFC fighters pointed out that the referee, Mark Goddard, has a history of stopping fights too quickly.
