Apart from being globally famous for making music, Drake is notorious for his gambling habits. He likes to bet a lot on fights and fighters, be it boxing or MMA. THe rapper has also gained a reputation for cursing fighters he bets on. The fighters lose their fights and Drake ends up losing his money. However, this time Alex Pereira taunted Drake to bet on him for his second fight against Israel Adesanya, after losing his money betting on the fan favourite.

Alex Pereira has time and time again proved how formidable of an opponent he is in the Octagon. Last November, Alex Pereira shocked the world by finishing Israel Adesanya in the fifth round of their UFC 281 main event. In doing so, he captured the middleweight title and took his series lead over ‘Stylebender’ to 3-0 in combat sports. Drake did previously bet a million dollars on Israel Adesanya at UFC 276. Drake ended up winning his bet while Israel proved the Curse is not real. However, the curse caught up to Israel Adesanya. Israel lost against Alex Pereira at UFC 281 and Drake lost two million dollars this time.

Alex Pereira is set to rematch Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. This time around Alex Pereira warns Drake to make a better decision while choosing the fighter he’s betting on. Alex Periera on his social posted “I hope you bet on the right person this time“. While Alex is pretty confident going into his rematch with Israel Adesanya he clearly is not aware of Drake’s curse.

The fighter looks in phenomenal shape before the fight. Even though Alex won the last match with Israel Adesanya he is still not the betting favourite. When Drake facetimed Israel Adesanya prior to his fight at UFC 276

Drake is infamous for losing his money when betting on fights. By doing this Drake has also gained the reputation of cursing the fighter he bets on. However, his curse does not take effect every time and when it doesn’t he ends up winning big. Such was the case when Drake face-timed then-middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Before Adesanya’s fight against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276 Drake face-timed Israel Adesanya. Israel Adesanya was cutting weight and the call took place hours before the ceremonial weigh-ins. During the call, Drake mentioned how he has placed a bet of ‘ a light million dollars’ on Izzy.

A million dollars might be another Friday in Drake’s life but it is a lot. But as Drake mentioned “the return on investment is a lot ” he made a lot. Israel won his fight against Jared and defended his belt yet again.
