Alex Pereira is in Vancouver, Canada, and will attend UFC 297. Pereira was in the front row to watch the pre-fight press conference between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. Also, in Canada, Pereira gave an interview where he revealed controversial details about his past relationship. Alex Pereira revealed the reason he broke up with ex-girlfriend Merle Christine.

In the interview with FULLSEND MMA, Pereira revealed that Christine was a married woman during their relationship. The revelation took the MMA community by storm. Now, Christine responded in kind with an Instagram story. This is what she posted on her Instagram story:

lol HURT MAN ARE REALLY TRYING TO INVENT WHATEVER. OBVIOUSLY I WAS MARRIED IN THE PAST, (Alex was too) BUT I GOT SEPERATED BEFORE I STARTED A RELATIONSHIP WITH ALEX. YOU GUYS ARE SO ST*PID TO THINK I COULD MOVE TO THE STATSS HAVING A HUSBAND? lol I BROKE UP WITH ALEX BTW. AND IF I WOULD START TO SPEAK ABOUT THE REASONS HERE IT WOULDNT END GOOD GUYS. Peace out!

Christine’s revelation further shocked the MMA community. When news broke of the breakup, both parties were cordial. However, recent events point to a possibly nasty breakup. Nonetheless, Pereira’s focus remains on his MMA career as he hinted at a fight against Jamahal Hill. Christine is an MMA analyst for Fightology and, as such, is involved in MMA.

Christine recently picked Sean Strickland to prevail over Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. She cited Strickland’s cardio and Du Plessis’ inexperience in going five rounds as the reason for her pick. Interestingly, Du Plessis hinted at his interest in fighting for the light heavyweight title at the pre-fight press conference. On the other hand, Strickland was non-commital when media members asked about double champ aspirations.

Alex Pereira’s recent revelation did not go well with his ex-partner, Merle Christine. Pereira revealed that Christine was secretly married. Christine responded with an Instagram story post that provided her version of the story. Moreover, Christine provided further proof on her Instagram story.

Christine is German, and she shared her divorce papers from the court on her Instagram. Through the post, Christine proved that she had separated from her ex-husband on 3rd August 2022. The divorce was finalized soon after. This is what Christine captioned the post.
