Before he even entered the ring for his UFC London match against Nikita Krylov, Alexander Gustafsson was already out. The three-time championship contender was struck by an overhand right, sending him to his knees, and Krylov then clipped him with a left hand to finish the job 67 seconds into the first round of the UFC London main card fight.

Gustafsson shown seasoned wisdom by getting back to his feet and pushing Krylov against the fence. But as soon as he relaxed, Krylov kept up the pressure, pursuing him across the octagon with additional blows. Gustafsson, who was backing away, partially deflected a head kick, but the left hook went through as he gripped one of Krylov’s legs.

Gustafsson has now dropped four straight matches despite still being relatively young in his professional career at 35 years old. Daniel Cormier, a UFC analyst and former rival, was one among several who advocated for Gustafsson to quit after this prolonged losing streak.

He took twitter wherein he stated, “Gustafson is done. He needs to walk away, these shots are hard but he used to eat those. The chin is gone, walk away my friend. We all have expiration date. One of the best to not have had a title.”

Gustafsson recently praised his followers and remarked on his defeat in a tweet, he stated, “I’m ok, Disappointed. Congratulations to Nikita and thank u all for support.” Here is the said Tweet:
