Did I feel like myself in there? No, not really… I could’ve done better. I just didn’t fight my fight. I feel like I was fighitng to not get caught. That’s just not my style. Obviously, I want that rematch, so I can’t give you too much. But, (I’m) pretty disappointed… I wasn’t the exact Volk we’ve seen out there. It was a bit of a two-minds out there. Not too happy with the performance.

Comparing Alexander Volkanovski’s previous fights, he looked a bit timid in this fight. He used a lot of kicks and lateral movement to keep Ilia Topuria at bay. Also, the knockout loss to Islam Makhachev could’ve played a part in this loss. As such, there was some truth to what ‘The Great’ claimed. However, fight fans didn’t agree with him and wanted the former champion to accept his loss.
