Alexander Volkanovski seems to be impressed by the main-event featherweight bout at UFC Kansas City. In the fight, Volkanovski’s old rival, Max Holloway fought Arnold Allen in an exciting five-round fight.

Both fighters showed impressive skill sets and gave fans an amazing main event. The featherweight champion, Volkanovski made a tweet after the fight giving credit to Holloway the fighters for their fight IQ and vast experience. He wrote: “Max showing great fight IQ and experience. High level fight…well done lads ? #UFCKansasCity.”

After the end of five rounds, Holloway was declared as the winner via unanimous decision hence stopping undefeated UFC run of Allen. Going into the fight, Allen was expecting to move up in the rankings to ultimately fight for the title however, the fighter may have to wait for a little for that.

Max Holloway is the current #2 fighter in the featherweight division and with his recent performance is expected to carry that momentum further.  In the post-fight press conference, Holloway expressed that he will definitely watch the fight between Alexander Volkanovski vs Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 in July. He’s not sure but would love to fight the winner of that fight.

Volkanovski and Holloway have fought each other three times and the Hawaiian has never been able to win. It is highly possible that both the fighters will see each other once again and it will be their fourth fight.

Volkanovski is 34 years old and doesn’t know how many years he will continue to stay at the top. On the other hand, Holloway is only 31 and is already a UFC veteran. It will be interesting to see both the featherweight elites fighting each other once again.
