“He’s not gonna be the champion,” Ali Abdelaziz dismisses Charles Oliveira’s chances of reclaiming the UFC lightweight title

“He’s not gonna be the champion,” Ali Abdelaziz dismisses Charles Oliveira’s chances of reclaiming the UFC lightweight title

Charles Oliveira- Ali Abdelaziz

Ali Abdelaziz is one lucky guy for he has all the elite fighters of 155 lbs managed by him, those being Justin Gaethje, Beneil Dariush and Islam Makhachev. However, Abdelaziz is not the one to manage the former lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira, who’s moving forward to reclaim what he once lost only because he weighed only half a pound more than the supposed weight in his last fight, a first-round finish for him against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274.

Oliveira will now fight for the vacant title, most likely to be against Islam Makhachev. Oliveira is on an 11-fight winning streak and Makhachev is on a 10-fight winning streak. Oliveira is a phenomenal Jiu-Jitsu practitioner on the way to becoming the greatest submission artist in UFC history, Makhachev is an exceptional grappler whose wrestling skills resonate with the likes of the great Khabib Nurmagomedov. This fight will be an intense ground game if it ever happens. But there’s another fighter in talks.

In an interview with Sherdog, Ali Abdelaziz, founder of Dominance MMA management consultancy, talks about his fighters Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush, who’s inactive lately due to his injury but is recovering and is already on a very impressive 7-fight winning streak.

“It doesn’t matters who’s gonna fight Charles Oliveira, and I’m sorry Brazil I love you, but Charles Oliveira is not gonna be the champion in October,” says Abdelaziz “He’s gonna lose, I think he has not fought the grappler like Islam or Beneil, even wrestling, they are better than him at wrestling, they’re better than him at grappling… I just don’t see it he can beat any of these guys, and I respect him, I am not talking trash because he is a good man…”

Who do you think will fight Oliveira for the lightweight championship? Who do you think gives a tougher time or even has more chances of winning against Oliveira, Dariush or Makhachev? Where do you put Oliveria amongst the best fighters of all time fighting from a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background?
