UFC Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is set to fight Sean O’Malley at the main event of UFC 292. Sterling is looking forward to his next title defense after his victory against Former Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo. Prior to the event, Aljamain claims that he’ll make the UFC ‘Sugar-Free’ after he defeats Sean O’Malley in the title defense.

Sterling talking in the UFC embedded vlog series episode 1, said, “I’m excited for this opportunity. My 2nd main event in a row. They gonna start calling it the Aljamain event after this one. Make sure you guys tune in, this is going to be a big opportunity for me. The Long Island fans coming out to Boston, you guys are in for a great show. Sean’s a stud but there are levels to this game. I’m going to put pressure on this man from round 1 and I believe it’s going to be a 2nd round TKO. Henry Cejudo was my last victim. I took him from Triple C to the double C and I can’t wait to make the ‘UFC Sugar-Free’ “.

Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling could possibly quit the 135 lbs division after his title defense against Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. The Funkmaster seems confident about the O’Malley fight and is setting his eyes on the possible 145 division for the future.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Sterling spoke about his aspirations to compete in the 145-pound division. Sterling wishes to fight the UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight belt. If he beats Volkanovski, he’ll become a double champ. Sterling doesn’t look forward to a longer career as he plans to defend his belt twice or thrice before stopping.

Alexander Volkanovski is fresh off a victory against Yair Rodríguez and is currently dominating the 145-pound division. It would be a huge challenge for Sterling to take the belt off Volkanovski. But for now, Sterling is focused on the Sean O’Malley fight.
