The reigning bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling is not going to hold back on his words ahead of his title defense against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 280. Sterling is confident that his opponent is looking to find a way to illegally win the upcoming fight.

Aljamain Sterling following his win against Petr Yan in his last fight immediately called for a title bout against the former champion TJ Dillashaw. The former champ has returned from his ban and is now ready to reclaim his title. Dillashaw was banned for testing positive for EPO.

The two bantamweights will co-headline arguably the best card of the year in UFC 280. Sterling has taken every chance he has to diss TJ for his miscellaneous past. Though Dillashaw publicly stated that he regrets consuming PEDs, Sterling is positive that his opponent will find a way to cheat again.

“If I had to make a prediction then there’s definitely no doubt in my mind that guy is fighting some type of doctor or microdosing or however that sh*t works,” said Sterling talking to Submission Radio. “I guarantee you he’s finding some type of way to get an edge once again as he’s done his entire UFC career,” added the champ.

How Aljamain Sterling proved everyone wrong

Aljamain Sterling has had to go through a lot of criticism despite not doing any wrong. In 2021, at UFC 259, Sterling became the first-ever fighter in the history of the promotion to become a champion via disqualification. Petr Yan was DQ’d after illegally landing a knee to Sterling’s face.

Since then Sterling was criticized every single time for carrying the belt around. Many called out Sterling for being an actor and faking pain to get him the belt. UFC 273 came around in 2022 and it was time for Sterling to shut all his hater sup. And boy did he do so spectacularly.

In his rematch against the favorite Petr Yan, Sterling dominated the Russian and showed class to retain his belt and this time earn the respect of all critics and haters. Kudos to Sterling for being a sport about all the trolls and giving a befitting reply to his haters.
