“My fists will do the talking”- Aljamain Sterling sends a warning to TJ Dillashaw ahead of their matchup

The Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is set to defend his belt against the former champion TJ Dillashaw. After a USADA suspension back in 2019 the former champion Killashaw returned to the octagon picking up a win against top prospect Cory Sandhagen. Dillashaw is going to face the Funk Master for the 135lbs title. Dillashaw is looking to make history and capture the title again.
The Funk Master(21-3) is on a 7-fight win streak, capturing the belt and defeating twice the then champion Petr Yan in the process. In his last fight, the champ successfully defended his title against former champion Yan. The Champion also has wins over top bantamweight in Cory Sandhagen and Pedro Munhoz.
On the other hand, Killashaw(18-4) has had only one fight against. He fought former title challenger Cory Sandhagen after returning to the octagon following his suspension. After defeating the then champion Cody Garbrandt twice. He moved down to flyweight to challenge the champ Henry Cejudo, Dillashaw lost the fight and subsequently relinquished his Bantamweight title after USADA violations.
“He’s not a fighter”-TJ Dillashaw doesn’t consider Aljamain Sterling as a real threat
In an interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Killashaw talked about his upcoming title bout with The Funk Master, His USADA test. Helwani also brought up how several people in the MMA community have been saying that Dillashaw was gifted the title shot. While talking about his upcoming title fight with the champion The Funk Master, Killashaw stated that he’s not worried about fighting the champion as he considers him more of an athlete than a fighter.
Dillashaw stated in the interview, “[He is] not like a dangerous fighter. He’s not someone you have to go out there and be worried about getting finished or put to sleep. I’ve always known he’s great and he’s got some great skills at what he does. but to me, if I look at him, He’s not a fighter, He’s more of an Athlete.”
Reacting to Killashaw’s comment disregarding the champion’s abilities on the MMA Hour, the champion took to Twitter to respond. The Funk Master sent a warning to the former champion. He wrote, “My fists will do the talking on October 22nd.”
On October 22nd fight fans will witness these two going head to head for the title. It will be interesting to see if Dillashaw regains the throne once again or does the Funk Master continue his dominance and retains it.
