Aljamain Sterling proves all his doubters wrong in his title rematch against Petr Yan at UFC 273. The bantamweight champion managed to outscore the Russian and prove his haters wrong. Sterling faced a lot of slander leading up to the title rematch and now gained the respect he deserves. Sterling, following his win, called out former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

TJ is returned from his two-year ban and took on Cory Sandhagen in 2021. Dillashaw believes he deserves the title shot and was pleased when Sterling called him out. However, there seems to be a change of plans according to the current bantamweight champion as he shut down the possibility of a potential fight between the two.

UFC recently announced that the bantamweight championship bout between Aljamain and Dillashaw will happen at the pay-per-view event UFC 279. Replying to the fight announcement, a fan wrote, “TJ is gonna make easy work of Aljo.” Sterling never shies away from the banter with fans. “We’re not fighting. But you guys literally said this about the last 6 guys that I fought,” wrote Sterling in response to the fans.

Sterling was brutally trolled leading up to his fight against Yan in the rematch. Aljo became the champion in the most uneventful way as he was the first-ever champion in UFC history to be crowned the champion via disqualification. Sterling was a huge underdog leading up to the fight. Sterling dominated Yan on the ground and nullified the former champion’s threat.

A fight against TJ and Aljamain is very much anticipated amongst the fans given this will be TJ’s first title fight since his ban. Dillashaw received a two-year ban for testing positive for the consumption of PEDs. What do you make of Sterling and Dillashaw fighting?
