T.J. Dillashaw responds to Aljamain Sterling
TJ Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling have been trading blows for quite some time now. A former American fighter who presently owns the UFC Bantamweight Championship. He holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra and is a former NCAA Division III wrestler.
TJ Dillashaw has only tested positive for illegal substances once. However, jeopardising one’s professional athlete reputation, particularly in such a scrutinised discipline as athletics, is extreme. As an example, consider Jon Jones’ career. He was thought to be one of the Goats, but his positive test was one of the main justifications used against his being dubbed the Greatest of All Time.

Assessing Aljamain Sterling vs T.J. Dillashaw
T.J. Dillashaw will be against Aljamain Sterling who would defend his championship for the second time at UFC 279 on September 10. Three sources close to the matter confirmed to MMA Junkie that contracts had been signed for the fight as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement, and the people asked to remain anonymous. At this point, UFC 279 has no official location or venue, however, sources recently told MMA Junkie that Boston and Atlanta are in the running.
While, Dillashaw, the former bantamweight champion, will seek to recover the belt he was forced to resign in 2019 after testing positive for a prohibited drug. Following a loss against former flyweight king Henry Cejudo in his effort to become a two-division champion, Dillashaw relinquished the belt only days before receiving a two-year suspension for testing positive for recombinant human erythropoietin – better known as EPO.
Dillashaw won a hard-fought split decision against Cory Sandhagen in his return to action in July 2021, but he sustained a knee injury that kept him out for the greater part of a year. After regaining his health, Dillashaw will attempt to win the bantamweight title for the third fight after two prior reigns.
