“Too strong for her,” Amidst retirement talks for Rose Namajunas, Manon Fiorot doubts future of former champion

Manon Fiorot and Rose Namajunas engaged in a classic speed versus strength matchup in the co-main event of UFC Paris. Fiorot won the fight as she used her strength and imposed her will. Namajunas, thus, suffered a loss in her debut fight at flyweight.
During the press conference, Fiorot talked about what she thought of Namajunas’ future at flyweight. She “No, it’s not her. I think the flyweights are too strong for her.” Furthermore, she hinted at fighting the winner of Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso in her next bout. Manon Fiorot has only lost the first fight of her professional career. She has an undefeated record in the UFC. Fiorot has notable wins over Kathlyn Chookagian, Jennifer Maia, and Mayra Bueno Silva, to name a few.
Fiorot was indeed the stronger fighter in her fight against Namajunas. “The Beast” appeared bigger with a muscular frame in the matchup. The victory was her 6th straight in UFC. Erin Blanchfield, who defeated Taila Santos at UFC Singapore, might have a shot at the title.
If Shevchenko beats Grasso and a trilogy fight happens, the chances of Fiorot and Blanchfield fighting for a number one contender fight remain very high. Both Blanchfield and Fiorot remain undefeated in the UFC. Blanchfield’s sole loss in professional MMA came against Tracy Cortez.
Manon Fiorot is waiting for the winner of Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko 2

With the win over Rose Namjunas at UFC Paris, Manon Fiorot is adamant about fighting the winner of the flyweight title bout between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko. The fight is a rematch of a bout where Grasso submitted Shevchenko after the Peruvian-Kyrgyzthani fighter attempted a spinning back kick.
Even though Fiorot has defeated the likes of Jennifer Maia, Kathkyn Chookagian, and Rose Namajunas, she doesn’t have exciting finishes like Erin Blanchfield. Blanchfield had demolished Molly McCann and Jessica Andrade. Moreover, the fight against the bigger and stronger Taila Santos showcased her grit. Blanchfield also called for a title shot after her victory over Santos at UFC Singapore.
As of now, only two contenders are vying for a title shot. But there is a chance that Zhang Weili will increase weight to attain the double champ status in women’s MMA, a feat accomplished only by Amanda Nunes.
