The Bud Light controversy involving a transgender influencer has been a whirlwind of events, with its fair share of highs and lows. Now, the latest twist comes in the form of Conor McGregor, who has chimed in with his thoughts on Bud Light’s new commercial. As the controversy continues to unfold, McGregor’s comments add another layer to the complex web of opinions surrounding the brand’s marketing campaign.
Anheuser-Busch, the Belgian company, boasts one of its largest American subsidiaries known as Bud Light. Historically, Bud Light held a prominent position as one of the leading beer companies in the United States. However, a recent turning point for the brand occurred when it made the groundbreaking decision to feature a transgender influencer named Dylan Mulvaney in its promotional activities.
The conservatives of America were unhappy with this marketing strategy. The backlash Bud Light received from the right wing forced them to take a step back from their commitment to the influencer. Naturally, this seemed like a lack of integrity to the leftists in the USA and Bud Light received further criticism.
While Connor McGregor has not directly addressed the aforementioned controversy, he recently expressed public appreciation for a new commercial released by Bud Light on July 4th. “Incredible advert! Well done AB,” wrote the Irish superstar.
Bud Light appears to be making an effort to regain favor with the public by creating an advertisement that promotes a sense of unity for America as a whole. While it is true that Conor McGregor‘s support, had it been expressed a few years ago, could have potentially benefited Bud Light, it is worth considering the context surrounding McGregor’s recent legal issues.
Given McGregor’s recent troubles with the law, his opinion may not carry the same weight or significance as it once did
