Kamaru Usman recently uploaded a video on his YouTube channel where he and UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje went to attend the comedy show of popular comedian Andrew Schulz in Abu Dhabi.
Kamaru mentioned in the video that he’s a fan of Schulz’s and likes content because he doesn’t have much filter. When they finally met, Schulz embraced Usman and then started talking about UFC 292. He said,
I had it 2-1. Khamzat's dad or something was pissed at me. He wasn't saying shit until the decision happened. When it happened, he's like yeah. I was going absolutely crazy. He was tired though. You felt good right? On the feet it was light, he was strong though.Andrew Schulz said on Kamaru Usman’s vlog
Andrew Schulz was present in the UFC 294 crowd in one of his latest podcasts, which mentioned that he was sitting near Chimaev’s father. He shared that with The Nigerian Nightmare and revealed that Khamzat Chimaev‘s father was nervous about the result, but after it was announced, he started shouting at the top of his lungs. Hearing this, Kamaru Usman had a laugh.
Schulz also mentioned that he thought Usman won the fight and asked the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ about how he felt while fighting. Usman explained that with a longer training camp or even in a five-round bout, he would have won against Chimaev.
UFC Hall of Famer pitches Kamaru Usman to fight Robert Whittaker next in the middleweight division
Now that Kamaru Usman has fought in the middleweight division, he currently has several options for his next fight. After Usman lost a tight majority decision to Khamzat Chimaev in a 185-pound match at UFC 294, Robert Whittaker recently stated he would want to see Usman stay in the division for another fight.
When asked about a possible fight between Usman and former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker on ESPN’s DC & RC show, Daniel Cormier expressed his belief that it’s a significant fight. DC mentioned that he believes both Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker deserve to enter the octagon for substantial matchups every time. He is fully supportive of a potential bout between Kamaru Usman and Whittaker.
According to DC, Usman should be competing in championship-level fights, and an Australian opponent is considered an ideal choice for such a challenge. This will also indicate a strong desire for Usman to face tough competition, possibly to solidify further his status as a top-tier fighter in the world of mixed martial arts.
