It was a close contest, and some had Arman Tsarukyan winning the fight, and he too believed he did enough to get the decision. He posted the same on Instagram and he wrote, “I didn’t lose this fight, only upwards from here!” Arman was riding on 5 fight win streak, and his last loss came against Islam Makhachev.

He went toe to toe against Islam, and many considered he’d be a problem for every top-ranked contender in the division. Arman is not salty over this loss, and he is the kind of a guy to work even harder, reflect upon his mistakes, and come back stronger than ever.

Mateusz on the other hand is enjoying his win, and he’s looking for a fight against the former interim lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje. Khabib Nurmagomedov congratulated him on his win, and he hopes Islam and him can share the octagon in the near future.
