Arman Tsarukyan has slowly begun to climb the ranks with impressive wins over his opponents. The Armenian UFC fighter defeated his most recent opponent, Joaquin Silva, via TKO at UFC on ESPN 47. He faced some adversity but powered through to get the win.

Arman Tsarukyan recently voiced his opinion about the top fighters in the division. He said, “they’re all old; they should all retire.” Arman further specified that Michael Chandler has no chance against Islam Makhachev since he lacks the required fighting sense to beat the champion.

Tsarukyan tweeted out to Michael Chandler indicating that any potential fight between Chandler and Conor McGregor will not happen. This is due to the sexual assault allegations levied against Conor McGregor. He stated that if Chandler thought otherwise, he is as “dumb as your(his) fight IQ.” McGregor’s recent struggles with the law during the NBA finals in Miami have led to many problems for his family and friends. So, Tsukaryan has a valid point on the matter.

A potential fight between Chandler and Tsarukyan would be apt for the division since all the other top contenders will fight each other in the near future. Charles Oliveira will most likely get the title shot against Makhachev, while Justin Gaethje is all set to fight Dustin Poirier. This leaves 5th-ranked Chandler with no one else to fight. A rising star like Tsarukyan will naturally provide Chandler with an opportunity for another title fight if he can defeat Arman.

The UFC fighter from Armenia has recently caught the eyes of many with two consecutive wins against respectable fighters in the division. He has broken into the top ten with ease and confidence.

Tsarukyan decided to create some media presence by calling out the best fighters in the division. In his post-match interview after his recent victory, Tsarukyan pointed out that his least favorite fighters are among the top 4 in the UFC lightweight division. He explained the statement by reasoning that those fighters, in particular, fight only amongst themselves. He stated that a true champion will fight anyone.

The fighter has clarified that he fully intends to fight for the belt against Islam Makhachev. He claimed to have proven that he has what it takes to defeat everyone in the division and claim the UFC gold.
