UFC Featherweight Contender Arnold Allen is gearing up to fight the biggest challenge of his career when he takes on former Champion Max Holloway at UFC on ESPN 44. The British fighter has yet to lose in the UFC and rides a 10-fight winning streak. Allen believes that once he beats Holloway, he will get to fight for the title next. Attending a media scrum, a reporter asked him about how he scored the fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makachev.
Arnold Allen answered, “Yeah, of course Volkanovksi did great. I thought he would do what he did, but he did better than I expected. I thought he would put on a good show, and maybe the size would have been a factor. He looked great. I had him winning, and I have to rewatch it, but I have to watch what I say, people call me a racist because if I say Volkanovski won. Maybe, I will change my opinion if they say it again.”
It appears that alongside Joe Rogan, who thought Volkanovski won, Allen also believes that the Australian defeated Makachev. However, that is not the storyline heading into this week. It is about Allen and Holloway. Holloway recently lost to Volkanovksi for a third straight time and got dominated in the third fight. Fight fans will get to see if Holloway has regressed based on his performance against Allen.
On the other hand, Allen will look to defeat Holloway and punch his ticket to a title shot. The Brit has yet to lose a fight in the UFC and will look to extend his winning streak to 11-fights. UFC has booked a title unification bout between Volkanovksi and Yair Rodriguez, but with a victory, Allen can be the next fighter in line to compete for the title.

Arnold Allen has the second-longest active winning streak in the UFC

The British fighter slowly rose up the rankings in the Featherweight division since his debut in the UFC back in 2015. The eight-year-long journey to reach the top of the Featherweight ranking is an incredible feat to achieve.
He has notable victories over Submission Specialist Makwan Amirkhani, former Strikeforce Champion Gilbert Melendez, prospect Sodiq Yusuf, Dan Hooker and the dangerous Calvin Kattar. His winning streak currently ranks second among active fighters, only behind Islam Makachev.
At UFC on ESPN 44, he will look to add Max Holloway to that list and extend his streak to 11-fights. The British fighter has won three Performance of the Night Bonuses in his UFC Career. Fight fans will soon find out he can conquer the challenge presented by Max Holloway.
