Nate Diaz recently attended Misfits Boxing 6 in New Orleans to support his teammate Chris Avila. Outside the venue, Diaz and his team got into a scuffle with a lookalike of Logan Paul. He dropped the man unconscious with a standing guillotine submission. Following the incident, New Orleans Law Enforcement levied battery charges on Diaz and issued an arrest warrant. Attorney of Nate Diaz released a statement on the situation.

He confirmed, “Nate’s attorney Walter Becker can confirm that Nate has received word of the arrest warrant, and Becker has been in contact with court authorities in New Orleans. Nate’s attorney looks forward to presenting all of the facts about this incident to the District Attorney, which clearly demonstrate that a trained fighter named Rodney Petersen aggressively pursued Nate with the intention of engaging him, and once doing so, Nate acted entirely in self-defense. No further comment will be made at this time.

Diaz will enter the boxing ring for the first time in his career later this year. He will face Jake Paul in his boxing debut. Paul is coming off a loss against Tommy Fury and will look to defeat Diaz to return to the winning column. Following Diaz’s scuffle with Logan’s lookalike, Jake Paul made a video attempting to troll Diaz.

Diaz last fought at UFC 279 against Tony Ferguson. His attorney will try to convince the court to act in self-defense in the scuffle. The boxing bout between Diaz and Paul might be in jeopardy if the attorney cannot prove the innocence of Diaz.

Nate Diaz will face Jake Paul in his boxing debut in August. However, the bout could be in jeopardy after Diaz was issued an arrest warrant for his involvement in a scuffle in New Orleans. The matchup remains intact at the moment. However, the event could land in trouble if Diaz’s attorney cannot prove his innocence.

KSI took to Twitter to offer Jake Paul as a backup for Nate Diaz. He wrote, “Well, if that mean Jake won’t have an opponent in August…Then I’ll gladly come as the replacement after I KO Joe Fournier in May.

Jake Paul accepted the terms on Twitter. He wrote, “Great. I accept you as the backup opponent. Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape, and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks buddy for being so humble and committed.” Only time will tell what will happen in August.
