Dana White was recently criticized by Oscar De La Hoya for letting a star like Francis Ngannou leave the UFC. Now, he seems to be making up for that with star studded PPVs for 2024.

Dana White just dropped a fight announcement video. As promised, The UFC CEO went back to business soon after reaching home from vacation. As such, he announced two lightweight bangers involving two UFC veterans Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira. Further, White revealed announcing more fights by Tuesday after a matchmaking meeting, expectedly for UFC 300.

In the announcement video, Dana White unveiled two lightweight bouts. Firstly, he announced Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint-Denis as the co-main event of UFC 299 taking place in Miami. Then, he announced a #1 contender’s fight between Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan for UFC 300 taking place in Las Vegas. Here is what he said:

Two fight announcements for you. First, the co-main event, Miami March 9th, UFC 299 will be number 3-ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier vs. number 12-ranked Benoit Sanit-Denis...Next, for UFC 300. Number 1-ranked lightweight Charles Oliveira is taking on number 4-ranked Arman Tsarukyan in a number one contender fight.

Also, in the video, Dana White hyped up the fights by stating some facts. He mentioned Benoit Saint-Denis was coming off five finishes and going up against a proven Dustin Poirier was a steep challenge. As such, this fight would be a five-rounder since both the lightweights asked for it.

Moving on, White acknowledged Charles Oliveira was supposed to fight Islam Makhachev for the title but due to an injury to the champion, he was forced to take on Arman Tsarukyan in a title eliminator. As such, The UFC CEO promised the winner of this fight to take on the lightweight champion when he returned.

Dana White has been stacking up the 2024 PPV cards with fight after fight. Also, Charles Oliveira, who was promised a title shot fighting another top contender in Arman Tsarukyan surprised the fans. Of the four fighters involved, three would be coming off knockout wins leaving out Poirier who lost his previous fight to Justin Gaethje.

Dana White took to social media to announce two thrilling fights for upcoming UFC PPV events. He revealed Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Sanit-Denis for UFC 299 and Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan. Like every time, this fight announcement from White garnered a lot of attention from the fight fans.

Benoit Saint-Denis would be returning after a brutal KO finish over Matt Frevola while Dustin Poirier would look to return to the winning column after his loss to Gaethje. Also, this fight would be Saint-Denis’ chance to break through to the top five.

On the other hand, Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan were in the top five and faced each other to decide on the next title challenger. Since they both were coming off KO wins over Beneil Dariush, this served as a perfect matchup. As such, fans expressed their excitement for these matchups on X.
