“WHITER version of Demian Maia,” Belal Muhammad BLUNTLY dismisses the threat of Sean Brady’s ground game before their fight

Sean Brady- Belal Muhammad
Sean Brady might have warned the UFC welterweights of his uprising as a stronger contender of the division, not for Belal Muhammad though. Brady is the #7 ranked UFC welterweight and his ground game is as good as it comes provided Brady dominated a reputable wrestler of the welterweight division only on the ground in his last fight against Michael Chiesa. Brady is undefeated with a record of 15-0 in his overall MMA career covering 7 wins via finishes.
Brady will return to the UFC Octagon after 11 months when he will face a higher-ranked opponent and a much more experienced grappler in Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. Muhammad is 21-3 in his overall MMA career and is known for his grinding style of fighting where he dominates his opponent from first to the last bell with his slick wrestling. Muhammad is coming off a win in a rematch against Vicente Luque, thus, avenging his loss in their first fight.
Belal Muhammad thinks he will win come this October in Abu Dhabi at UFC 280

In an interview with Helen Yee, Muhammad talks about his famous basketball game showdown against UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, his teammate Gerald Meerschaert, the intense training sessions of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, and much more. In the midst of all, Muhammad talks about his UFC 280 opponent, Sean Brady claiming that he is the best grappler in the welterweight division.
“I don’t think he is the best grappler in the division,” says Muhammad “Like I said, I am training with Gerald Meerschaert who has the most submissions in the middleweight history and I fought Demian Maia who was one of the best grapplers ever to do it. So I feel like he’s just a whiter version and a worse version of Demian Maia, so I don’t think that it’s anything I haven’t seen before, I think it’s gonna be the same thing and I am gonna get my hand raised [in our fight] at the end,” concludes Muhammad.
What do you make of Muhammad’s subtle dismissal of Brady’s threatening ground game? Do you feel the same way? Do you think Brady’s grappling is overrated or underrated? Who do you think wins come UFC 280 between Muhammad and Brady and who do you think is next for the winner? Winning over Muhammad will mean the biggest achievement so far in Brady’s career but should Muhammad get a title shot if he wins?
