During a Q&A session at UFC 294, Belal Muhammad was asked about his potential future aspirations. With reigning welterweight Kamaru Usman now moving on to middleweight, Muhammad has defeated the top 5 contenders in the division.

Muhammad, who is ranked #3 in the welterweight division, is only succeeded by Colby Covington and champion Leon Edward. He is of the opinion that a victory over Edward would stack his legacy in with that of Georges St-Pierre.

In the Q&A for UFC 294, Belal Muhammad had this to say regarding his potential legacy in the UFC:

I've already beaten everybody else. I've got to get what I deserve and what I'm owed, and that's the title shot. I'd rather fight Leon because I think that win will mean more to me. It'll cement myself as the best welterweight to ever do it. When you look at my resume, it'll be up there with GSP's resume. There'll be nobody else up there with me.

Georges St-Pierre was a two-division champion, competing in welterweight and middleweight divisions. He is deemed one of the best fighters in the UFC by fans and peers alike. But Muhammads’ audacious comparison to his legacy did not bode well with fans of the MMA community.

Muhammad has had a long-standing desire to achieve the welterweight gold. Now with Usman leveling up, there is a shift in paradigm. He accordingly feels his goal is closer than ever.

Belal Muhammad will grapple at ADXC Debut

Welterweight Belal Muhammad is a renowned name within the MMA promotion. He is, however, next set to test himself in the world of professional grappling. He will face off against Tarek Suleiman in the co-main event of ADXC 1, in the inaugural matchup. Muhammad has also expressed interest in stretching his legacy by defeating UFC fighter Leon Edwards.

Suleiman is a pioneer in the global MMA stage and one of the most popular fighters in the UAE region. Meanwhile, Muhammad sits at rank #3 at welterweight with a major victory against most peers. Many entities have dubbed him the most successful Arab to ever compete in the UFC. 

Sitting at 23-3-0, Muhammad is a strong multi-spectrum fighter. Muhammad has also previously competed in Bellator MMA and Titan FC. He has been hungry for a title shot within the UFC for a long time. Moreover, the Arab fighter had revealed that the promotion had plans to book him against Usman. But the latter wound up in a middleweight debut match at UFC 294.
