“Who has he beaten that’s won?” – Belal Muhammad questions the credibility of Colby Covington’s wins at the UFC
Belal Muhammad and Colby Covington will be a very interesting match to look out for
Belal Muhammad recently defeated Sean Brady at UFC 280 extending his winning streak to eight consecutive times in a row. After the fight, during the post-fight press conference, Muhammad was asked about Colby Covington.
While responding to the question, Muhammad explained that he doesn’t think Covington will take the Khamzat fight. “I do not think Colby (Covington) is going to be fighting. Colby’s out here hiding. He’s doing his own little thing. He’s definitely not fighting Khamzat,” said Covington. Muhammad also mentioned that fans are unnecessarily making a huge deal of Covington but in reality, the fighter has only fought fighters on losing streaks.
He said: “Who has he beaten that’s won? He’s beaten (Jorge) Masvidal on a three-fight losing streak. He’s beaten (Tyron) Woodley like on a five-fight losing streak. Everybody he’s fought and (beaten), they’re all coming off losing streaks. The only fight he had a good fight on was (Kamaru) Usman, and then he ended up getting finished in that fight. Other than that, everybody has been losses. He hasn’t been fighting these top guys.”
“I just beat (Vicente) Luque who was on a seven-fight winning streak.” Muhammad continued. “I just beat (Brady), who was on a 15-fight winning streak. I’m the only one fighting guys that are on winning streaks.” Muhammad is currently one of the top fighters in the division and has been stacking off wins for a long time, it’s about time that the UFC will give him a much-deserved shot at the title very soon.
Belal Muhammad calls out Khamzat Chimaev after UFC 280
UFC 280 turned out to be an amazing night for Belal Muhammad. Ahead of the fight, Muhammad trained hard with Team Khabib which is extremely hard. It seems like all the training and dedication are paying off as Muhmmad stopped Sean Brady in the second round via TKO.
After winning during the post-fight interview, Muhammad wasted no time and called out the top dogs including Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev.

He said: “I heard Leon Edwards is out here. Where is he at? I also heard the big-bad wolf if coming back down [ to welterweight]. I can fight at 179.8 [lbs]. Doesn’t matter to me. I’m here to fight the best people.”
Muhammad is confident and even silenced his haters after getting a finish as everybody was criticizing the fighter for only having decision wins. It will be interesting to see what the fighter would do in the next few months.
