Askren boasts a record of 19 wins and 2 losses in his professional UFC career. He has collected wins against notable fighters such as Robbie Lawler and Luis Santos. The welterweight fighter is also known for his wit and trash talks ahead of his fights.
Askren is considered a clever fighter in terms of his trash-talking and humorous comebacks. His rivalry against ‘Gamebred’ Jorge Masvidal is one of the most heated feuds. Ben Askren is also known for his presence on Twitter. Recently, the fighter posted a photo of his wife and 3 children. Although it was the caption written above the photo that shocked fans. The caption that Askren wrote was meant to be a compliment to his wife. However, it came across as a veiled insult.
“I’ve seen some guys posting on social media lately about how they are winning bc their wife is attractive, while I don’t disagree I think finding a wife who is a great mother is 500% more important!!! Thanks, @Abamaby [Ben Askren’s wife] for being such a great mom to our kids,” wrote Ben Askren.
This left fans laughing at the retired fighter for his passive insult toward his wife. The tweet also received thousands of likes and replies, making fun of the UFC fighter. Although he’s retired, Askren continues to entertain his fans through his social media platforms.

This time, it is no different as fans are appalled at Askren’s tweet praising his wife. The post was meant to be a flattering remark to his wife. However, it turned out to be the total opposite.
One fan tweeted, “Twitter is dead so thanks for this. Probably not worth sleeping on the couch, but thanks anyway.” The tweet indicated that Askren’s wife would be aggravated by her husband’s insulting tweet.
Fans demand Ben Askren delete the tweet ahead of his wife’s eruption. Nonetheless, Askren’s wife got involved and tweeted, “PHEW I was worried my supermodel looks were wasted on you, @benaskren But really, this is a great compliment. Thanks.” Seemingly, his wife seems to find her husband’s tweet hilarious. In closing, the situation was a humorous back-and-forth for fans and no one was left scathed.
