Former UFC welterweight and former ONE Championship and Bellator MMA welterweight champion Ben Askren is one smart and vicious troll for anyone out there on Twitter. Askren was last seen in action in a boxing exhibition bout against Jake Paul which he lost in the opening round of the fight. Askren, formerly a wrestler before a mixed-martial artist is a former Olympian and in his prime in MMA, had an undefeated record of 19-0 with one no contest.

Askren’s downfall in MMA first came at the hands of UFc megastar Jorge Masvidal who knocked Askren out in the record of the fastest knockout win in UFC history and one of the all-time greatest when Masvidal landed a flying knee right on Askren’s chin within 5 seconds of the opening round. Then, with Askren’s health issues in relation to his hip injury, he couldn’t perform well in his next fight losing to another grappling legend in Demian Maia. Now, Ben Askren is busy in his life coaching wrestling, podcasting and being an advocate for Bitcoin.

In a Tweet released by FIFA– Federation Internationale de Football Association– on the occasion of Pride Month, the organization wrote on Twitter “Pride Month during June is a celebration for the LGBTQIA+ community. Today has also been one of celebration at the Home of FIFA. Find out more, as well as how FIFA is working to ensure the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, will be a celebration of unity and diversity.”

Askren came out of nowhere to repost and quote the Tweet by saying “Please tell me they know homosexuality is illegal in Qatar” indicating advice to the world’s biggest football organization to revise the host country’s laws before talking about assuring the celebration of sexuality. In Qatar, LGBTQ+ people do face legal challenges as opposed to non-LGBTQ+ residents and male homosexuality is illegal to such an extent that punishment lasts up to 3 years in prison.
