“Would come out of retirement” – Ben Askren reveals the only fight that would prompt him to comeback inside the octagon
Ben Askren
Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal are part of the shortest UFC fight ever. In 2019, Masvidal fought Askren at UFC 239 and it turned out to be an iconic one. As soon as the fight started, Masvidal ran towards Askren and landed a nasty flying knee on his head. It dropped, Askren out cold and the fight was over. Masvidal got the record of having the fastest knockout in UFC history which was of five seconds. The crowd just went crazy and fans couldn’t believe what they saw at that moment.
Since then, Askren became a part of Masvidal’s highlight reel. Before that, Askren was on an impressive 19-win fight streak and undefeated throughout his career. However, after that fight, he was never the same. Askren retired after one more fight which he lost against Demian Maia.
The knee was impressive but there has always been a debate about what would have happened if the kick would not land perfectly. It seems like fans can see and experience it.
