The grudge fight is around the corner as former friends turned for Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington will take on each other at UFC 272 this Saturday.
Coming to the fight, the trash-talking and personal attacks are getting on another level. Both haven’t missed any chance to humiliate each other on any stage.
Needless to say, both of them are among the best fighters currently in the world. For which, their fight already has the attention it needs. However, with all this trash-talking added to it, it certainly has spiced up the hype around this epic battle.
Colby Covington responds to Jorge Masvidal’s allegations on him
Ahead of the fight, both the fighters were featured in the recent UFC 272 countdown video. The video was all about both of them humiliating each other with personal attacks and trash-talking.
Needless to say, Jorge Masvidal pulled out the obvious question about Covington stiffing their former striking coach Paulino Hernandez. According to Masvidal, Paulino was there for Colby from his amateur days to his professional fights. But, Covington didn’t repay him when he had the chance after winning that belt.
Masvidal stated: “My coach trained him all the way from amateur fight to his professional fight. When you finally get to winning that belt he never pays him”. Replying to which The Chaos said that the statements by Masvidal are absolutely fake. Colby revealed: “Jorge tried to say that I stiff Paulino on a fight purse which is the complete biggest fake news that I have ever heard in my life.“
Previously, “Chaos” has explained that he was paid a lot lesser than what surfaced on the internet. However, Masvidal still accuses him of not paying $12,500 to his coach. Masvidal also revealed the reason behind the rift in their friendship.
