“Not more than 30 seconds,” Bo Nickal assumes quick work of Khabib Nurmagomedov in a wrestling contest

3-time NCAA Champion Bo Nickal has proved his dedication to the sport of mixed martial arts with his spectacular knockout win in his professional debut, but his wrestling credentials still rank higher as of now and for Nickal, he believes these credentials are enough to defeat one of the greatest wrestlers to have ever stepped inside the Octagon in MMA history, in a purely wrestling competition. On the wrestling mat, Nickal is 2017, 2018 and 2019 NCAA champion, 2019 US National Champion and former U23 World champion as well.
Nickal is surely talking about him versus Khabib Nurmagomedov, former UFC Lightweight champion with an undefeated record of 29-0 who’s now a UFC Hall of Famer and President of Eagle FC promotion. Nurmagomedov has won over the likes of Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Rafael Dos Anjos, Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza, Gleison Tibau and many more. Nurmagomedov is tied with BJ Penn and Benson Henderson for the most title defences in UFC Lightweight history.
Bo Nickal is highly confident that even in tough situations, Khabib lasts only a full minute against him
In an interview with GiveMeSport.com, Nickal said “To be 100 per cent honest with you, if I were to ever wrestle Khabib, Khabib wouldn’t last more than 30 seconds against me in a wrestling match… Maybe 60 seconds, tops. I respect the guy, don’t get me wrong, like he’s tough. If he’s not the greatest of all time in MMA, he’s up there. There’s nobody that can have an all-time greats list and not have him on it…
But I’m a wrestler. I’ve done this my whole life. He’s done sambo his whole life but it’s a different thing. It would be the same as asking me if I could stop Cristiano Ronaldo from scoring. That’s kind of my thought process on me wrestling Khabib. Obviously, great at what he’s done, I have so much respect for him, but that’s my world. So he’s not lasting very long,” Nickal concluded.
Nickal recently landed a spectacular KO win in his professional MMA debut at his teammate Jorge Masvidal’s promotion, IKON FC 3. The future is bright for Nickal, who competes in the middleweight division.
